The Paths and Potholes Story

Paths and Potholes is a voyage of experiences, detours, exhilarations, and tranquility.  While not a travel guide, we hope documenting our destinations, routes, and points of interest help you have more informed travel and avoid the potholes that snagged us along the way. 

We will be off the beaten path and in the middle of the superhighway of travel.  From holes in the wall to famous destinations, we will share our experiences, and unbiased opinions about the places we go, stay, eat, and play. 

Cozumel Carnival - Carnaval de Cozumel

Carnival in Cozumel or as it is known on the island, Carnaval de Cozumel is one of the oldest Carnival celebrations in all of Mexico and the Caribbean.  Possibly even the oldest at over 150 years old.  While Carnival dates and length vary throughout the Caribbean, Carnaval de Cozumel has traditionally followed the Catholic tradition of the sacrifices made during Lent.  It is a weeklong event filled with music, dancing and parades.
